Running and knees
Any time people tell you that you should stop running because it'll make your knees worse (and people WILL tell you any time you complain of knee pain that it must be all that running and that you should stop), read these. I keep copies of them in my bag. Just kidding.

My husband
We don't get to run together as much as we used to given that one of us has to watch the boy-and-soon-boys, but hands down, he's my favourite running partner. It's like going for one of our nice strolls in the summer, with the laughs (which make it a little more challenging to run but that's okay), great conversation, mental stimulation exchanges, just moving faster.

Runner's Prayer
When I would have long training sessions, my mind would also race, from random thoughts, to deep thoughts and always to prayer. Sometimes it was me begging God to get me home without my knee giving, sometimes asking him for the strength to swallow that last bit of a chocolate gel, and other times to give me a little bit of a push, but more often than not, it'd be me thanking Him for this, that and the other thing. I would think of the bits of shade and coolness provided for fractions of a second by each tree I passed during a hot summer morning run as Him fanning me in his cheering and motion to "Come on! You can do it!" Or on a cold fall run, I'd look up at the sky with the clouds breaking to let out some sun and take it as His warm hug pushing me to get to my finish. Those long runs could get pretty challenging sometimes, especially when they meant getting up at 6 in the morning so that I'd finish before the sun became too hot or before the rain came down. But every time, He's there, pushing me with a gust a wind when I need it, reminding me of why I love running and why He gave me the ability to do it.
Here's a prayer I found.
